Know Goa programme from Nov 27 (TOI)

The 4th Know Goa programme for foreign youth of Goan origin will be held in Goa from November 27 to December 6. The Goan diaspora youth will then be taken to New Delhi for a re-orientation on India from December 7 to 11.Announcing this to the media on Friday, NRI commissioner Eduardo Faleiro also invited youth of Goan origin to submit their names for possible selection in the 4-week Study India programme conducted by the ministry of overseas Indian affairs. To be held next year, the programme is for youth from the 18-26 age group and interested candidates have been asked to contact the Goa NRI department.

Speaking about the Know Goa programme, Faleiro said that 11 youth aged between 18 and 26 and hailing from countries such as Canada, UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Tanzania and Kenya will participate in the Know Goa programme. Faleiro said the participants are selected on the basis of recommendations received from Indian embassies and high commissions abroad. One selection criterion is that the youth should be leaders in their respective field. The aim of the programme is to acquaint youth of the Goan diaspora with their roots in Goa and India for mutual beneficial engagement in the future.
