Laadli scheme: GPCC alleges discrimination
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has condemned what it called “discrimination” by the BJP-led State government in the implementation of the Laadli Lakshmi scheme and scheme meant for the housewives.
“I am justified in accusing the government for discrimination against the Congress party on implementation of these scheme. The Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has till date not been given a single form of these schemes. Is this not discrimination when BJP workers are moving around with thousands of forms”, he told the media after a meeting with representatives of Panchayats and Zilla Panchayats in the city here.
He said the government should avoid harassing the common man by allowing them to Xerox the application forms.
“Let the people have the freedom to print the forms. The government is free to sanction the forms as and when funds are available. Don’t make people stand in the queue in thousands outside mamlatdar office. This is in bad taste”, he said.
Shirodkar said panchayat members raised up the issue of discrimination in the implementation of these schemes. [H]
