Licences to late night parties suspended along Pernem’s coast
Pernem Deputy Collector Meena Goltekar has temporarily suspended all licenses of late night parties, which were issued to some hotels along the coast at Morjim, Mandrem and Arambol.
Under the new shack policy, it is compulsory to obtain a no-objection certificate from the Costal Zone Management Authority (CZMA) for any late night party. It is learnt that the late night party licences did not have the NOC of the CZMA and hence, the deputy collector kept the licences in abeyance until further orders.
The deputy collector’s order was issued to all hotel owners along Pernem’s coast as well as the Pernem police.
Meanwhile, late night parties are going on in full swing along Pernem’s coastline. Loud music was being played at Gawdewada-Morjim and one hotel at Ashwem Beach on Friday night, but police failed to take any action against these hotel owners. [H]
