Maharashtra man held for photographing 2 girls
SuhasGawas, 40, a resident of Dodamarg, Maharashtra, was arrested by Panaji police on Thursday for trying to outrage the modesty of two girls, one of them a minor, by clicking their photographs without their permission.
Police said the girls had come to Panaji to answer an exam, but as the same was postponed were sitting at the Ambedkar Park near the KTC bus stand waiting for their friends. On noticing that Gawas was taking their photographs, the girls immediately telephoned 100, the police control room.
"Panaji police immediately swung into action and arrested Gawas," said sources. A case under IPC Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 8 (2) of the Goa Children's Act has been registered. [TOI]
