Management pledges to install CCTVs in two days
Hit by the shocking incident of the sexual assault on a seven-year-old student in the school toilet, the school management has decided to install CCTV sets in the school within two days, provide martial arts training to girl students and has also agreed on other measures to beef up security in the school campus.
While also deciding to provide compensation to the family of the schoolgirl, the school management has convened a meeting of all parents, PTA members and management committee at the secondary school on Thursday at 9 am.
This was decided by the school management, while interacting with a four-member committee in the office of the management in Vasco.
During the interaction, various issues were discussed on increasing security for students in the school.
“As far as installation of CCTVs and beefing security, I have already directed to repair the demolished compound walls and raise the height of the walls. We have also directed the staff to procure CCTVs, which will be installed within two days. More CISF personnel will be posted during school hours and if needed, we will also seek the help of Goa police to patrol the area,” an official of the school management told the four-member committee.
“The teachers will henceforth inspect all classrooms and toilets before and after school hours. I will also arrange martial arts classes for girl students through reputed and respected lady trainers,” he added.
The official said he is ready to comply with any other demands to ensure safety and security of the students during school hours.
He assured the committee that he will pay the required compensation to the victim. [H]
