Margao Cricket Club thrashed Goa Police by eight wickets to enter the final of 31st Nanda Lolayekar Trophy cricket tournament organized by Mashem Cricket Club at Mashem, Cancona, Sunday.
Margao elected to field first. They bundled out Goa Police for 167 in 29.5 overs thanks brilliant bowling by Raj Raikar (3/15), Darshan Misal (3/32) and Amogh Desai (3/31). Chandrakant Ghadi 35 and Dinesh Sawal 33 top scored for Goa Police.
In reply, MCC started with a bang with Amogh Desai and Damodar Redkar putting up a solid 65 run partnership in just nine overs. MCC scored the required runs in 25.3 overs for the loss of only two wickets. Amogh scored an unbeaten 101 whereas Tausif Jamadar also chipped in with 38 not out. For Goa Poilce, Thango Naik was the only bowler to make any inroads, picking up 2/33.
Amogh was declared man-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
