Marinha Dourada wins national tourism award

Resorte Marinha Dourada has won the National Tourism Award for 2011-2012 for the fifth time. Mr Menino Goes Proenca, director of Resorte Marinha Dourada, received the award from the President of India, Mr Pranab Mukherjee. Minister of State for Tourism, Mr K Chiranjeevi, was also present.
The 205-AC room resort is located in the scenic village of Arpora just minutes away from Baga beach. The resort, set in serene surroundings and atmosphere, remains cool even in hot summers. Echoes from the past are apparent in the décor of the resort. The architecture brings Portuguese Goa in the resort.
The sandstone arch at the entrance radiates a welcoming grace. The well-maintained rooms have balconies with the view of the pool and the esthetics of the picturesque lakes backed by swaying palms and a lofty hill range.
A complimentary transfer from the hotel to Baga beach and back is provided although a walk is recommended to sample the beauty around. [NT]
