‘Modi right candidate for PM post’

Echoing sentiments expressed by Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national executive last week, the state BJP unit said that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is the right candidate for the post of prime minister.
Modi was showered with praises during BJP national executive meeting in Delhi last week. Speaking to reporters on Thursday here, BJP vice-president Wilfred Mesquita, said Modi enjoys widespread support among party workers. "Goa unit will fully support Modi if national executive names Modi as prime ministerial candidate," said Mesquita.
"There won't be any hesitation in extending support to Modi," he said further adding that, "mood of the people is in favour of Modi," when asked what makes the party to think that he is the "right choice" for the country.
He said some sections of the society may have reservations about Modi but there is lot of support for him as well. He further pointed out that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has already backed out from the battle field. While interacting with Congress MPs and journalists in Delhi last week, Gandhi denied that he is in the race to be become a PM. [TOI]
