Mopa issue: Vijay hits out at Sardinha

Perturbed by the statements made by the MP, Mr Francisco Sardinha, supporting the two airport theory, the Independent  MLA of Fatorda, Mr Vijay Sardesai, on  Monday, came down heavily on the MP.
“Actually he is taken as a joke by his own party. This explains why he failed to get a cabinet berth inspite of being qualified,’’ Mr Sardesai said while speaking to the media.
The Fatorda MLA was reacting to Mr Sardinha’s comment, who has termed Mr Sardesai  talk on Mopa as “boyish statements.”
Mr  Sardesai  pointed out Mr Sardinha has  failed to  fulfill  his pre-poll  promises that  bullfights would be legalised in the state of  Goa.
“The MP has also to explain to the people of Goa what he has done to the promise of special status to Goa  given in his presence by the Congress leadership,’’  he said further.
Taking a dig at the MP,  the Fatorda MLA said that  the MP  could not  move a file pertaining to the Zuari bridge in the last years, adding this  shows that how much the central  leaders of his own party care for him.
“I am of the opinion that the MP is favouring  two airports in order to  repay the financial favours taken during the time of election from those people who have brought huge beach land in Sindhudurg in Maharashtra,” he added.
He also flayed the education department for holding the examination for SSC students in English subject on March 28, which happens to be  Maundy Thursday.
“I am demanding with the Chief Minister, Mr Parrikar, who  is also the  Education Minister to change the dates of the examination,’’ he  said. [NT]
