Muslim panel against special status for Kashmir

The Muslim Rashtriya Manch has submitted a memorandum to Additional district Collector, N S Navti demanding scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution giving special status for Kashmir.
A delegation of the Manch headed by Dr Asif Ali Narangi later told the media that Kashmir is an integral part of India and should not be bestowed with any special status. “We have demanded cancellation of Article 370 of the Constitution, because at that time the Article was inserted by Country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru to take confidence of the Kashmiris. Recently, the Kashmiri separatists have demanded that Article 370 be retained permanently, demanding that the special status to Kashmir should be treated as a separate region”, he added.
He pointed out that around 2900 Muslims from Goa have volunteered to sign the memorandum to oppose Article 370 for Kashmir.
The Additional Collector later told newsmen that the memorandum would be forwarded to the office of the President of India. [H]
