Nabard chairman visits Goa State Co-op Bank

 

Dr Bakshi, chairman, Nabard, along with the general manager and deputy general manager of Goa region recently visited The Goa State Co-operative Bank Ltd at Patto, Panaji.
 
Chairman, Mr Ulhas Phal Dessai, vice-chairman, Mr Avelino Marcos D’Silva and other board of directors along with officials of the bank were present on the occasion. The chairman of the bank welcomed the guests and briefed them on the bank’s present financial position and the vision for improving the same. Thereafter, Mr P S Vernekar, financial adviser (then managing director of the bank) placed all the proposed schemes before the Nabard chairman. Mr Vernekar specifically emphasised on the issues of core banking solution, recovery aspect, deposit mobilisation, refinance to the bank and financial inclusion for delivering banking services at the door step of every villager. The Nabard chairman in principal assured to extend full co-operation, guidance and support in achieving goals sets by the bank. The bank is all set to prepare the Development Action Plan (DAP) as suggested by Nabard before January 31, 2013. [NT]
