Navelim locals want legal mines to restart

Residents of Navelim on Sunday demanded with the State government to restart legal mines in the State.
The residents made the demand at the Navelim Gram Sabha, which was specially called by the panchayat to discuss the crisis faced by truck owners and others dependent on mining.
Most of the speakers at the gram sabha raised different problems faced by the mining related components like truck owners, garage owners, spare part shop owners, businessmen engaged in tyres and tube selling, truck drivers, cleaners and others dependent on mining.
The speakers demanded solution for the crisis.
The main speakers included Avdhoot Gawas, Vishnu Gawas, Sakharam Gawas, Rupesh Gawas and others. Sarpanch Gopinath Gawas informed that the copy of the resolution will be sent to the State government soon.
Sarpanch Gawas, Deputy Sarpanch Karuna Mahale, Deepesh Gawas, Khushali Naik, Deepak Naik, Swati Mainkar, Suman Gawas and others were present at the Gram Sabha. [H]
