New controversy hits Vasco school

The management of the Vasco school in which a seven-year-old girl was raped on January 14, is in fresh trouble with the parents committee of Mormugao Port Trust Education Society on Wednesday accusing the teachers and staff members of neglect following an accidental fall involving a classmate of the rape victim.
According to the parents committee which was constituted to seek justice for the girl who was raped, the school teacher of class second delayed in attending to a girl who had a fall in the classroom on Wednesday morning.
The parents committee would meet in the school premises on Thursday morning in order to question the teachers and the staff members over the lapse in providing attention to the girl student.
It was told that a class second student sustained grievous injury to her leg after she fell in the classroom on Wednesday. However, despite injuries to her leg, the teachers and the staff members failed in giving immediate attention to the student and even failed to administer her first aid. [NT]
