No life in the budget, says Shirodkar

The Congress on Tuesday said that there is 'no life in the budget' presented by chief minister ManoharParrikar on Monday. Goa pradesh Congress committee president SubhashShirodkar said that this budget is against the common man.
Speaking to mediapersons, Shirodkar said that the government's decision to increase stamp duty from 20 to 50, will pinch the pockets of the common man.
He also said that Parrikar has tried to impose high taxes on registration of vehicles, which will add additional burden on the people of the state.
He also said that this government has increased the price of houses for the public, by a levy of 1% tax on the agreement of sale, on the builder. Shirodkar said that while imposing the tax, Parrikar deliberately said that flats below 10 lakh will be exempted. "Everybody today knows that in Goa, no flat is less than 10 lakh," he added.
Shirodkar also said that the water tariff has increased by the government, and that now, the common man has to spend 150 more for water. [TOI]
