Outreach programme by RBI, Corp Bank held at Nadora

 

 An outreach programme was organised by Reserve Bank of India, Panaji in association with Corporation bank in Nadora on Sunday. Mr G Gopalakrishna, executive director, Reserve Bank of India, was the chief guest on the occasion.
 
Other dignitaries who attended the function included Mr Shripad Naik, MP, Mr Kiran Kandolkar, MLA, Mr J B Bhoria, regional director of Maharashtra and Goa, Ms R Sebastian, banking ombudsman, Mr B B Tejappa, circle general manager, Corporation Bank, Mr Kamlakar Gawas, sarpanch, Nadora Panchayat, Mr Satish Harmalkar, sarpanch, Revora Panchayat and regional heads of various banks operating in the district. The villagers of Nadora actively participated in the function. A few self help groups and NGOs also participated in the function. Some banks had put up their stalls giving details of their products. The students of Government High School, Nadora-Revora, welcomed the participants through a welcome dance. The villagers were briefed about the purpose of the outreach programme. Since the objective was to showcase RBI’s role in affecting the lives of common man, several aspects of RBI’s functions and working were explained to the villagers in the local language. [NT]
