Panaji, Agasaim cops interrogate 7 persons
Agasaim and Panaji police on Saturday jointly interrogated seven persons in connection with the Hassan Khan murder case, which took place near the Holy Cross shrine at Bambolim on Thursday night.
Police said that those picked up for questioning were business associates of the deceased, adding that they were hopeful of arresting the accused. Panaji police station inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai and Panaji local intelligence bureau (LIB) staff have also been roped in to help in the investigations.
Sources said that police were particularly interested in finding out if the victim had any disputes with his business associates.
Police also said that they were verifying the financial transactions of Hassan.
Police said that two unknown 'customers' who killed Hassan were hired to commit murder and suspect that both have left the state. The postmortem report has revealed that the death is due to stab injuries caused by a sharp weapon on the neck and chest. [TOI]
