Parrikar talks of system for model village


 Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Monday said that he wants to initiate a time bound and fast system for development of Model Village Scheme, while addressing the first state planning board meeting at Secretariat, Monday.
Parrikar specifically praised and proposed the Neturlim Model Village Scheme and described it as a very special scheme since it not only looks to making village families self reliant, but also proposes to provide benefits to more than 400 ST families. He sought to carry the Neturlim model to seven to eight villages in other backward talukas.
Dattaprasad Kholkar, Deputy Chairman State Planning Board said  that the State Planning Board has had several meetings and interactions with locals in several villages. The board discussed several issues concerning rural development, skill development, infrastructure development, water and sanitation, dairy development, agriculture development and several other issues. He also discussed the issue on Skill Development and urgent need for revamping of functioning of Human Resources training institutes in Goa. Interactions were also held on Budget 2013-14 at the board meeting. 
The Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation was later directed to propose formation of core groups, sub groups appointment of Nodal Officers for Government approval. [H]
