PCR driver suspended for negligent driving

 

Goa Police suspended police control room (PCR) driver Sripad Teli for rash and negligent driving on Wednesday. Sources in police said that Teli tested positive in the alcohol test.
Complainant Micheal Anthony Barreto, a resident of Verem, said Teli drove a PCR jeep in a rash and negligent manner at 1am on Tuesday and dashed against a fast food centre at Verem, damaging the compound wall and roof of the fast food centre .
 
Porvorim police registered the offence under section 279 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code IPC and arrested Teli. He was later released on bail. Porvorim police also send the report to SP PCR Atmaram Deshpande. Speaking to TOI Deshpande said "Teli is suspended as he was arrested for rash and negligent driving and a departmental inquiry will be conducted". [TOI]
