PWD tenders: ex-CS may be summoned

Former Chief Secretary of Goa Sanjay Srivastava is likely to be summoned by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Vigilance Department, in the ongoing investigation into the alleged manipulation of the Public Works Department tenders.
“He (Srivastava) will be summoned to appear before the ACB for questioning. He was the chief secretary when the alleged scam happened,” an officer said.  Principal Chief Engineer, PWD J S Rego  will appear before the ACB on Wednesday morning. He has been called for “explanations and clarifications”.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that he would file FIR against artist Subodh Kerkar on charges of corruption, while referring to a tender floated for installation of a mural on the dead wall of the Animal Husbandry Department. The work was tendered for Rs 9 lakh, which was commissioned by the PWD. Kerkar alleged that he was being targeted to silence the dissent and because he was the brother-in-law of  Vijai Sardesai. [H]
