Radhika holds meet with Vasco school parents
The officer on special duty, Dr Radhika Nayak, who has been appointed by the state government to oversee functioning of the school run by the Mormugao Port Trust Education Society at Headland-Sada, where a minor girl was raped, on Saturday held a special meeting of the parents-teachers association to chalk out security and safety measures in the school and to ensure smooth functioning of the primary section by next week.
Dr Nayak said in the aftermath of the incident there was a need to allay fear from the minds of the school students, parents and also from the general public.
"The long-term measures adopted by the school management will slowly remove the fear from the minds of the school students, their parents and also from the minds of the people," Dr Nayak said.
She said the school management is making all efforts to bring normalcy by adopting various safety and security measures which include close circuit television cameras, intercom facilities on all the floors.
She said that all the classes are now functioning on the first floor of the school building while the offices have been shifted to the ground floor. [NT]
