Rajasthan native nabbed burgling Navelim house

Margao: Margao Town Police last night arrested 19-year-old Devraj Singh, a native of Rajasthan, when he broke into a house at Colmorod, Navelim and was in the process of stealing jewellery from the house.The thief could be caught swiftly as the owners had fitted CCTV cameras to their houses with one night vision camera.The Gracias family lives in the house and the wife with her two children is in Kuwait while the husband Tom Levino Gracias lives alone. Yesterday Tom had gone to Canacona and had informed his wife that he would be in Canacona. In the evening his wife in Kuwait was just checking the CCTV footage on her mobile when she saw a man moving around in her house.She immediately called up her husband who in turn informed the police and a team immediately rushed to the residence where they found the front door broken. As the police entered the house, the thief hid under a sofa from where he was caught.Police found some jewellery items thrown on the ground and an iron rod bent to form a hook with which he reportedly broke open the door. Devraj Singh is remanded in police custody for five days. [H]
