Members of Active Citizens Forum Ponda, Nari Shakti Ponda and India Against Corruption on Monday organised a candle-lit procession condemning the rape incident in Delhi.
A large number of people, especially youth, took part in the protest march that commenced from Kranti Maidan, Ponda, and culminated at the same spot after moving through the city. Members during the meet also prayed for fast recovery of the victim in the Delhi rape case.

Earlier, speakers during the meeting at Kranti Maidan highlighted issues faced by the women and measures that needs to be taken so that women can walk on the streets without any fear.
Ponda Municipal Councillor Dr Radhika Nayak said: “Only blaming the authorities won’t do good, but we all must act responsibly. Youth especially boys must respect women and should also convince their friends to do so.”
Ponda Municipal Council Chairperson Rukmi Dangui, Councillor Sanjay Naik and Kishore Naik also lit candles in protest against the Delhi rape incident. [H]
