Rally underlines need to respect human lives
Men and women joined hands at a candlelight rally-cum-prayer meeting organized by the Voice of Velim at the Lohia Chowk, Assolna on Thursday evening.
The rally started from the Assolna Church and culminated at the Lohia Chowk, where the people lit candles and prayed for the soul of the Delhi gang-rape victim.
Assistant Parish Priest of Assolna Church, Fr Elvis Dias addressed the gathering as he underlined the need to respect human lives. :”The greatest law taught by any religion is to respect human life. We have to fight against injustices”, he said.
Assolna Sarpanch Framila Almeida, Sera Paes were amongst the persons who spoke at the rally. Velim Sarpanch Melvyn Sanches was also present.
