Regulated legal mining will resume very soon: Parrikar

The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, said that controlled and regulated legal mining will resume very soon in the state.

Mr Parrikar was addressing a gathering of over 5000 people at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) second phase of Jan Sampark Abhiyan held at Thane ground in the Sattari taluka.
The Jan Sampark Abhiyan is a mass-contact programme to inform the electorate about the fulfillment of assurances given by the BJP in its election manifesto during the assembly election and also about various welfare schemes like Laadli Laxmi and Griha Aadhar.
North Goa MP, Mr Shripad Naik, Health Minister, Mr Laxmikant Parsekar, Sanquelim MLA, Dr Pramod Sawant, Sanvordem MLA, Mr Ganesh Gaonkar, BJP state president, Mr Vinay Tendulkar, BJP secretary, Mr Sadanand Tanavde, OBC chairman, Mr Satyavijay Naik, ZP member, Ms Shilpa Naik, former deputy speaker, Mr Narhari Haldankar, Valpoi BJP block president, Mr Demu Gaonkar, ZP member, Mr Deepak Kalangutkar, Mr Vasudev Parab, various sarpanchas and executive members of Valpoi and Poriem blocks were present.
Speaking about welfare schemes, Mr Parrikar said that ` 500 will be given to senior citizens as medicine allowance in the next financial year.
He also spoke about government scheme for promotion of self employment among the youth.
“Our government besides implementing schemes for girls has also worked out schemes to promote self employment,” said Mr Parrikar.
North Goa MP, Mr Shirpad Naik alleged that while Congress runs politics as business BJP is always concerned about the common man and their problems.
Lashing out at the Congress leaders, Health Minister, Mr Parsekar said the state government is moving on the right track and that no Congressmen will have anything to speak against the BJP-led government functioning.
He urged the people to elect BJP candidates in North and South Goa in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Mr Vinay Tendulkar, Mr Ganesh Gaonkar and Dr Pramod Sawant also spoke on the occasion. Many prominent persons were honoured at the hands of Chief Minister and North Goa MP. [NT]
