Rs 1.8L worth ornaments robbed in Calangute
Unknown persons broke into a flat occupied by a well-known restaurateur in Calangute on Monday and stole gold ornaments worth 1.80 lakh.
Calangute police said that Soumyen Chakraborti, who runs Soumyen's Kitchen at Ximer in Candolim, has lodged a complaint that some unknown persons broke open a window and entered his flat at Gaurawaddo, Calangute, on Monday night when he was away and stole gold ornaments like mangalsutra, bangles, rings, earrings and chain, all worth 1.80 lakh, from a steel cupboard.
The Calangute police have registered an offence under Sections 457 and 380 IPC, and are conducting further investigations. [TOI]
