Rs 50,000 cash reward announced for informant
The Director General of Police, Mr Kishen Kumar has announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 to anybody providing any information, which could lead to the arrest of the culprit involved in the rape, which occurred in a Vasco school premises on Monday wherein the victim was a seven-year-old girl of Class II.
Mr Kumar further said that the name, address and identity of the informant would be kept a top secret. Meanwhile, the medical report of the victim has confirmed the rape, revealed the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dr Omprakash Mishra. Addressing the media on Tuesday evening, Dr Mishra said that the medical report revealed that the minor school girl was sexually assaulted. He further said that in order to investigate the whole incident, a team of 15 police personnel has been constituted.
Dr Mishra said that the team will be headed by the Superintendent of Police, Crime, Mr Omprakash Kudtarkar and police inspector from Crime Branch, Ms Sunita Sawant will investigate the incident. He said that the investigating police officer would look into the matter and investigate from different angles.
Meanwhile, the Mormugao police have already handed over the case papers in the Vasco rape case to the Crime Branch team. According to the complaint lodged by the father of the victim, on Monday at about 10.30 am, an unknown male wearing a blue coloured jeans pant and a long sleeve shirt with blue/white/black strips criminally trespassed into a school premises at Vasco where his daughter studied and sexually assaulted her before fleeing away from the spot.
