Rumours on change in guard rubbished

Rubbishing rumours about demand for change in leadership in the present government, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Thursday said “the news is just being created”.
He  said that the legislative members are very happy with the current government and its leader. “Let me speak the truth….none of the legislators wants change in guard….these are just created news,” he said. It may be recalled that a report had appeared in a daily (not HERALD) claiming that there was a demand within the ruling BJP for a change in leadership over its failure to resolve the ongoing mining crisis.
The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar currently heads his party’s legislature wing in the state assembly.
BJP legislators from the mining belt -Pramod Sawant, Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Faldesai and Ganesh Gaonkar had in the past lobbied with Parrikar requesting his intervention in resolving the issue. The Supreme Court has currently halted mining operation in the State.  [H]
