Sacred Heart march into semi-finals

Sacred Heart Secreamvaddo thumped Naranpoi Sports Club 4-1 to march into the semi-finals of Chinchinim Villagers Cup football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, Saturday. The score was 1-1 at half time.
Sacred Heart began well and took the lead in the 10th minute when Jolan Pereira bulged the net off a Turnard Fernandes pass.
Stung by the early reverse, Naranpoi regrouped quickly and raided the rival goal regularly. Their persistent forays materialized when Denzil Rebello cancelled the lead with a stiff grounder.
Crossing over, Sacred Heart put up a vastly improved  performance and tormented the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Joston Ribeiro made it 2-1 when he slotted home off a Joelif pass.
Spurred by the lead, Sacred Heart piled on the pressure and Joelif rocked the rival citadel for the second time to complete his brace off a pass from Turnard Fernandes.
With time ticking out, Turnard Fernandes drove the final nail into the rival coffin off a well measured pass from Jovial.
Scanny Rebello of Naranpoi was declared most valuable player. [H]
