Some unknown persons have committed theft of a scooter that was parked in an open parking place in Margao. According to Margao police, Ms Aisha Khanapuri, a resident of Zoriwada, Davorlim, has lodged a complain that on November 21, unknown culprits committed theft of Honda Dio scooter (GA-08 L-8428) parked near a bank in Navelim.
Police said that based on the complaint, offence under Section 379 of IPC has been registered.
Meanwhile, Margao police said that Narayan Nadir, a resident of Tamil Nadu, was found in illegal possession of 1589 grams of ganja. Police said that he has been arrested and lodged in custody.
Complaint on behalf of the state has been lodged that on December 8, near Sulabh Shauchalaya, Aquem, Margao, upon getting a tip off, the police laid a trap for Narayan and a search of his person revealed that he was in illegal possession of contraband drugs of 1589 grams of ganja, worth around Rs 3000. Police said that offence under Section 20 (b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act has been registered. PSI, Mr P Umarye is investigating.
Margao police also informed that on December 9, the body of an unknown female was found lying at the Old Market, near an advertising board. Police said that the body is preserved in Hospicio Hospital morgue for postmortem examination. Police have registered the case as unnatural death and PSI, Mr S G Chavan is investigating.
Meanwhile, the Verna police have registered a case of theft. Police said Savio da Gama, a resident of Mazilwada, Nagoa-Verna has lodged a complaint that between December 7 and 8, at Nagoa, Verna, unknown culprits affected entry into his flat by breaking the locks of the doors and committed theft of plumbing item, worth around Rs 60,000. Police said that offence under sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC has been registered and PSI, Mr Arjun Sangodkar is investigating.
Meanwhile, Agacaim police have registered an offence under sections 464, 469 of IPC for preparing forged certificate. Police said that Professor V P Kamat, Registrar Goa University, has lodged a complaint that prior to December 7, at Goa University, the alleged accused, Mr Gujaddep Sandhu, a resident of Mapusa, prepared a forged mark sheet of Goa University, without being enrolled in the same as a bona fide student and harmed the reputation of the institution.
