Security beefed up outside starred resort at Cavelossim

Colva police beefed up security by deploying CISF personnel outside a starred resort at Mobor-Cavelossim as employees continued their dharna on Thursday evening.

Armed personnel maintained a vigil after the employees threatened to continue their ongoing agitation till the management takes back all the employees for work.

While the agitating employees shouted slogans outside, a two-member delegation headed to Panjim this evening to have a meeting with Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar to intervene and resolve their grievances. “We will continue our agitation till all the employees are taken back for service by the management”, warned Swapnil Naik.

The press release said the company has proposed to put in place some new constraints and rules, and to separate the North Goa and South Goa management so that controls could be more effectively implemented.

Referring to the allegations that foreign employees have replaced 200 locals, the management has termed the allegation as nonsense, adding “the duties that they previously performed have been ceased and the company has no plans at this time to recommence them.” [H]
