Sporting Clube take on Shillong Lajong
Sporting Clube de Goa will be looking to stage an impressive performance and excite the local Bardez crowd when they lock horns with Shillong Lajong in their I-League clash at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Tuesday. The kick-off time is scheduled for 3.45pm.
This is Sporting Goa’s first I-League match at Duler Stadium and is a perfect opportunity for local supporters of the Flaming Oranje to watch their favourite team in action, under new Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon.
Sporting Goa has been using the new artificial turf at Duler stadium extensively for the past one month for their daily practice sessions and will be hoping to use this to their advantage, when they unleash their new quick, attacking brand of soccer.
Sporting Goa will be missing Guinea defender Keita Boubcar who picked up a red card in the last match against Air India. Joseph Clemente has been brought into the squad to replace him, but it will probably be another talented Goan youngster Joyner Lourenco who comes into the starting line-up.
Shillong Lajong recently lost 0-6 to Churchill Brothers and will be looking to put on a better performance in this match.
Sporting Goa is currently on 12 points from twelve matches, while Shillong are on 10 points from thirteen games. [NT]
