St Joseph’s clinch Lions Sports Trophy

 

St Joseph’s Boys Home, Calangute got the better of El-Shaddai, Assagao to clinch the top spot in the boys 1st inter-Lions sports meet for underprivileged children organized by Lions Club of Calangute in collaboration with Lions Club of Assagao, Anjuna, Aldona, Arpora-Nagao-Parra, Mapusa Sub-Urban and Mapusa at St Joseph’s Boys Home, Calangute.
Institute of Public Assistance – Provedoria Candolim bagged the third place.
In the girls category, El-Shaddai Assagao secured the first place while Vivian Niwas – Siolim finished second. Moving School -Saligao-Arpora took home the third spot.
In all, 200 children from seven institutions including St Joseph’s Boys Home Calangute, El Shaddai-Assagao, Institute of Public Assistance – Provedoria -Candolim, Vivian Niwas Social Center – Siolim, Auxiluim Convent Girls – Carona, Moving School Saligao-Arpora and Don Bosco – Calangute participated.
Bosco George (ADC to the Governor) was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Ana Maria D’Souza, Sarpanch VP Calangute and special invitee Bro. Bhakthinathan.
Surendra Nagvekar and Anthony Lobo conducted the sports meet. Rita Mody Joshi, organizing chairperson welcomed. Anthony I Fernandes secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Agnelo D’Silva compered.
