State govt committed to all-round development of Vasco: Carlos
The Vasco MLA and Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd chairman, Mr Carlos Almeida, has said that the state government led by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar is committed to the all- round development of the Vasco town, which was neglected by the earlier Congress-led government in the state.
Mr Almeida informed the media after the launching the work on hot-mix carpeting of the road leading to Varunapuri, Mangor-Hill junction from St Andrew’s Church Square that the work is estimated to the cost Rs 1.03 crore.
Speaking further, he said that a major portion of the road, leading to IOC junction from Chicalim junction, covering the stretch of Swatantra Path has recently been hot-mix carpeted with a cost of Rs 1.87 crore.
He disclosed that the internal road located at Mestawada would also be hot-mix carpeted in the next couple of days and is estimated to cost Rs 16 lakh.
He also disclosed that another major road stretch, which is used by all types of vehicles including heavy vehicles like trucks, tankers, trailers, buses and several others, namely F L Gomes road, would be hot-mix carpeted with the estimated cost of Rs 2.50 crore. [NT]
