Statements recorded in Benaulim youth’s death

 

Margao Sub-divisional Police Officer, DySP Mohan Naik, on Monday said the Colva police were investigating into the death of 18-year old resident of Benaulim William Almeida.
He told newsmen that the police are investigating into all angles, adding that statements of the minor girl, who had gone missing and had now returned, were recorded to unearth facts relating to the death.
“The missing minor girl has returned back. She along with another minor girl had gone to Mumbai. The Colva police is recording her statement which will throw light on the death of the boy,” he said.
When questioned how the deceased reached home when his motorcycle was found at the KTC bus stand, DySP Naik said police investigations have revealed that the deceased was dropped at his residence by two of his friends. “The Colva police have recorded the statement of the friends who dropped him home that night,” he said. Residents of Mazilwaddo-Benaulim on Sunday evening had marched to police station demanding a thorough investigation into the death of the youth under mysterious circumstances. [H]
