Suspended cop’s bail plea rejected
The North District and Sessions Court Friday rejected the bail plea of suspended head constable Vaman Naik, presently in jail for allegedly sexually abusing a prostitute.
Naik, in his bail application had argued that he has been falsely implicated in the case because of a rift with his senior.

But the officer would not agree because of which there would be arguments,” said a source.
Two rescued prostitutes, who exposed the nexus last month, had identified the suspended cop during a identification parade while he was in judicial custody.
Two others head constable Santosh Vengurlekar and constable Vijay Gaikwad, were also suspended on the same charge though they have not been arrested by Crime Branch. [H]
