Taleigao man’s body found in Bambolim


In what appears to be a pre-planned murder, Taleigao resident and garage owner Hassan Khan, 35, was killed by two "customers" near Holy Cross Shrine at Bambolim on Thursday night.
Police said two persons visited Khan's garage-Hussain garage-on Thursday at around 8.30pm on the pretext of purchasing his car. Khan, who also dealt in cars, wanted to sell his personal  After verifying the vehicle's documents the persons asked for a test drive. Police said they told Khan they wanted to take a test drive near Panaji and all three proceeded for the test drive.
Police said when Khan's brother and wife tried to contract him at around 9pm, as he had not yet returned from the test drive, they were unavailable to get in touch with him and began a search.
Khan's family members called friends asking whether they had seen the car. Police said a friend informed Khan's brother that the car was parked at Bambolim on the highway and the family rushed to the spot.
Upon reaching the spot, family members saw Khan's body lying on the backseat of the car in a pool of blood. Khan was stabbed on both sides of the chest with a sharp weapon, police said.
A complaint was filed by Khan's brother Hyder. He described the men as wheatish complexioned, thin, about 30-40 years old and about 5.8 feet tall. Hyder also said in the complaint that the persons robbed a gold chain of approximately 25 grams, a dual sim touch screen mobile and wallet all worth Rs 35,000.
Police have registered the offence under Section 397 (robbery), 302 (murder) read with 34 of the IPC. PI SM Vaigankar is investigating.
A postmortem examination was conducted on the body at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) and the body was handed over to the family for final rites. [TOI]
