Tawadkar for legal advice on chess membership

 

Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar decided to seek legal advice over the problem of registration of members as raised by chess lovers against Goa Chess Association (GCA).
The meeting between the chess lovers and GCA Executive Committee was chaired by the Sports Minister with SAG’s Executive Director Elvis Gomes, assistant secretary Navin Acharya,
Ashish Keny, Arvind Mhamal, Kishor Bandekar, Suhas Asnodkar, Augusto Pinto, Dr Peter Carvalho, Shrikant Barve being amongst  those present.
Suhas Asnodkar raised the question regarding the legality of current executive body as he said there were no members in Goa Chess Association with voting rights now after the special general body meeting on August 19.
Chess lovers claimed that any chess lover can be a life member of Taluka Chess Association by paying the requisite fee and that any life member of GCA can propose and second any application for any taluka association and that forms must be made available to all.
The last date to submit the membership form has been extended upto December 27. [H]
