Tenders for hotel management institute at Farmagudi


The government will soon float tenders for the hotel management and catering institute proposed to be built at Farmagudi in Ponda taluka.
Information provided by tourism minister Dilip Parulekar indicates that the government has already obtained an NOC from the village panchayat of Bandora and the town and country planning department. The consultant has also submitted drawings and plans of the project and these are presently under technical scrutiny. The proposed intake is expected to be 320 students. For one-and-a-half year courses, 40 students will be taken each course of food production, food and beverages, bakery and confectionary, housekeeping and front office operator. For three year's B Sc degree course the intake is likely to be 120. The courses will be started after all facilities have been developed and faculty recruited for the purpose. No date has been finalized as of now, and the government has not yet fixed the criteria for admissions, said sources. [TOI]
