Three injured as car falls into river at Chauri


 Three occupants of a car (GA-05 B-7202) Neetaji Kuttikar, Krishna A Gaude and Rama B Kuttikar, had a fortunate escape when the car in which they were travelling on Tuesday evening, hit the concrete railing and plunged into a rivulet.
According to available reports, the three were heading to Chauri, however, before reaching the spot, about a kilometre away, their vehicle landed into the rivulet. Netaji Kuttikar suffered severe injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College at Bambolim, while Krishna Gaude is learnt to be undergoing treatment at the Primary Health Centre at Balli. Mr Rama is learnt to have been discharged after preliminary medication.
The impact was so severe that the car was totally damaged. The fire personnel from Canacona rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the occupants by cutting off the door of the vehicle. After the injured were taken out of the vehicle they were rushed to the CHC, Canacona, from where they were moved to Balli and GMC for further treatment. [NT]
