Three injured in Mapusa knife assault

 

Three persons were injured in an assault at Mapusa market on Saturday evening.
 
Manoj Jaiswal, a resident of Canca-Parra, was heading to Mapusa market with his handcart at 4.30pm. On reaching Gandhi circle, his cart allegedly created a traffic jam which annoyed a motorcycle rider who slapped and threatened to kill him. At 5.30pm, the same person arrived at the market with three others and assaulted Manoj, his brother Upendra Jaiswal and helper Munna Gaur. Upendra was stabbed with a knife in his head, chest and hand. Munna suffered injuries on his hand.The injured were sent to the district hospital for treatment. Police have arrested Santosh Kalangutkar, a resident of Calangute, while three others are absconding. An attempt to murder case has been registered. [TOI]
