Three shops burgled


Burglars targeted three shops at Upper Bazar Ponda and decamped with cash of Rs 11,500 in the wee hours of Tuesday. According to Ponda Police, the burglars targeted a liquor shop, a general store and a cloth shop. The incident came to light at about 6 am, when one of the shop owners went to open the shop.

Police further informed that the burglars affected entry into all the three shops by bending the shutter. Cash of Rs 5,000 each from a liquor store and general store and another Rs 1,500 from the cloth shop are reported stolen.

No dog squad or fingerprint experts were called. However Ponda Police claimed that they have a strong clue and are investigating in that direction. [H]
