Ticlo dares to quit over citizenship

Stating that though he was born in Yemen, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo said his parents are Indian and dared to resign if anyone proves that he is not an Indian citizen.
He was speaking at the meeting organized by Aldona BJP Mandal at Nachinola Sunday.
“Since I was born abroad, it does not mean that I am not an Indian citizen. Sonia Gandhi was born in Italy, then how she could contest the election in India and become the president of UPA,” questioned Ticlo.
Ticlo further stated that some residents from Aldona are against him because he does not act as per their dictates. “I am against corruption and will not tolerate any ‘goondagiri’ in my constituency. I wish that my constituency should be peaceful. I will leave no stone unturned for the development of the constituency,” asserted Ticlo.
Ticlo urged the workers not to get disturbed by the false allegations made by some Congress people about his nationality and stated that he has full faith in judiciary.
“The BJP government has fulfilled most of the promises made by the party during the elections and will continue to work for the betterment of common people,” assured Ticlo.
Vinay Chopdekar, Charuddatta Panjiker, Adv Phadte, Srikant Chodanker and BJP Mandal President Franky Carvalho also spoke and assured full support to Ticlo.
BJP Mandal General Secretary Manoj Prabhu welcomed the gathering and compered the function, while Gokuldas Halarnker proposed the vote of thanks. [H]
