Tourist saved from drowning, 3 others given first aid

 

A tourist was saved while three others were administered medical aid in four separate incidents at Agonda, Calangute, Baga and Candolim beaches.
According to reports, a family of four from Ahmadnagar was swimming at Agonda beach on Saturday when Siddhant Singh (15) got caught in a rip current. Lifeguards rushed towards the victim and brought him to the shore.
At Calangute Beach, a group of nine men from Karnataka were wading in thigh level water. Lifeguards observed the group constantly picking on and bullying a group member. After some time, he got tired and started shouting for help. All his friends ran away from the spot and the victim was left alone in knee-level water. Lifeguards rushed to the spot with IRB Police and first aid and assisted the victim out of the water. Since the victim had difficulty in breathing, he was shifted to PHC Candolim.
At Baga Beach, Rajesh B Radgi (26) from Rajasthan was in distress. Lifeguards rushed towards the victim and found that Radgi was unable to sit or move. He was later handed over to 108 ambulance.
At Candolim Beach, a domestic worker along with her nine-year-old son was walking on the beach when the child was attacked by stray dogs. 
Due to the seriousness of the case and severity of the injuries, the victim was rushed to Candolim PHC, from where the victim was shifted to GMC Hospital for further treatment. [H]
