Transport Minister says govt will study PPP concept
The Transport Minister said though the PPP concept for public transport mooted by the Transport Department appears laudable, the government will study the issue threadbare before taking a decision.
“The Transport Director has just forwarded the proposal to the government. We have to study and then decision”, he said.
Replying to a question, Dhavlikar said the concept may be good, but the associations of bus owners have raised their voices against the model.
On making helmets compulsory for two wheeler riders, Dhavlikar said the file is not stuck up in the office of the Chief Minister.
“The file is presently being studied by the law department. We will take a call after the law department gives its opinion”, he added. [H]
