Two killed in Pissurlem factory blast


Two workers were killed while another was seriously injured in a blast at an industry in Pissurlem-Sattari in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to Valpoi police, the blast took place at about 1.15 am on Saturday, while workers were on duty at the factory.
 Police said a machinery connected to the cooling gas developed a leak and exploded, killing Hanumant Nagraj (24), a native of Davangere-Karnataka, on the spot.
Two other workers, Brijesh Singh (31) of Uttar Pradesh and Krishna Pramod Paswan of Bihar were seriously injured and were rushed in a 108 ambulance to the Sanquelim Community Hospital, from where they were shifted to the Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim.
Brijesh Singh breathed his last at about 10.30 am, while Krishna Paswan is reported o be in a critical condition.
A Valpoi Police team led by PSI C L Naik conducted the panchanama at the accident site and investigations are in progress. [H]
