Two Russians rescued off Zalor

Two Russian tourists, a 58-year-old man and his daughter, 22, were rescued by lifeguards near the Zalor beach in Varca on Monday.

The two, Lev and Aleksandra Hukova, were among three members of the family swimming when they were hit by a strong current. While the two were pulled in, Lev's wife Natalia managed to swim safely to the shore. "Lifeguards alerted the tower and rushed to their aid with a rescue tube and board and brought them to safety", Drishti special response services, a private firm which handles beach safety, said.
