Valuables worth Rs 10L stolen from Panaji hotel
Jewelery belonging to Dubai-based businessman Murli Parsamal Awatani estimated at 10 lakh was stolen from a city hotel.
Police said Awatani, a native of Rajasthan, in his complaint stated that unknown persons stole the jewelery from their bags at the hotel room or reception on February 9. The purse stolen contained a set of diamond earrings, bangles, a ring, a gold chain with a diamond locket watches, shaving and shampoo kit
The complainant was attending a wedding in Goa. Police sources said the complainant checked-out from hotel on February 9 and left immediately for Vadodara in Gujarat. On reaching home he found that the jewelry stored in the bag was missing.
Police said that complainant returned to Goa and lodged a theft complaint. Panaji police have registered an offence under section 380 (theft) IPC. [TOI]
