Vasco rape: Victim shows courage, is calm and playful

The 7-year-old girl allegedly raped on Monday showed great courage while narrating the incident even when circled and questioned for about five hours by the crime branch team and Goa police.
Speaking to TOI, a source close to the girl said, "Even while she was being questioned about the incident she was calm and it appeared as if nothing had happened."
When people rushed to the school premises to share the little girl's sorrow they were surprised to see that she did not appear to look like the victim they had pictured. She was seated besides her mother and was engrossed in painting and doing craft.
The investigation process was made much simpler as the girl was concentrating on her art work. The source said, "The child was playing with colours and paper and whenever she dropped the scissor, she would pick it up and move around the table. She was quiet active." The parents also showed great courage, sources said.
On Tuesday, the girl was in a playful mood. A close family friend said, "The child came to the gallery and was playing with other children. Suddenly, she started recollecting what had happened to her. As the incident occurred yesterday memories are still fresh. We have asked her to remain in the house." [TOI]
