Verna police to probe Mickky’s ‘behaviour’ at Betalbatim beach

Vasco: The Sub Divisional Police Officer, Vasco, DySP Sunita Sawant has informed that the Verna police have been directed to first conduct some preliminary investigation in the complaint lodged by a Betalbatim beach based water sports operator against the former tourism minister Francisco Xavier ‘Mickky’ Pacheco and thereafter Pacheco would be called by Verna police for questioning.“Since we have booked an offence against former MLA Francisco Xavier ‘Mickky’ Pacheco under different sections of Indian Penal Code after a complaint against him was lodged by the proprietor of Frank Water Sports for damaging his parachute and for threatening and abusing his son on Sunday. “I have already issued directions to Verna police to first complete some initial investigation that can come on record and soon after that Pacheco will be summoned for questioning,” Sawant said.
On Monday evening, a Betalbatim local Elaine D’Silva complained to Verna police that on Sunday accused Pacheco came on the Betalbatim beach with his white Toyota car and drove his vehicle over a parachute belonging to Da Silva company namely ‘Frank Water Sports’.As per the complainant the parachute was lying on the beach and there was ample of space to pass. However, Pacheco drove his vehicle over his company’s parachute thereby damaging it. Later her son Milroy, who was witness to the incident, followed Pacheco and found him sitting in a shack at Utorda beach.“As per the complainant his son Milroy decided to question Pacheco as to why he drove his vehicle over his parachute and thus when he started questioning him in a shack where Pacheco was sitting, his son was abused with filthy language and was even threatened by Pacheco and three others,” Sawant said.“Further the complainant also mentioned that later Pacheco drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and was approaching to hit her son Milroy on the beach,” she said.
