Vijai ups ante on denotified Dabolim land
Accusing Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar of a complete U-turn on the Dabolim parking scam, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday reminded that the same Parrikar as leader of the Opposition had termed “de-notification” episode as a real estate racket being operated by the ruling politicians.
Sardesai warned that the government has time till January 1 to acquire land for parking at Dabolim, failing which he threatened to launch a people’s movement. He demanded that all MLAs from South Goa should speak up and make their stand clear on airport parking, saying “if they refuse to speak their mind on the issue, the constituency people will force them to take a stand”.
He took pot shots at the Chief Minister for his indecisiveness on the Mhadei issue. Sardessai said the BJP MP Sripad Naik has petitioned to the centre on the issue, while the CM is not in favour of taking the issue to the Green Tribunal.
Meanwhile, Sardesai smelt a rat in the examination conducted for the recruitment of Awal Karkuns in the Collectorate, South.
Alleging that question papers were leaked to the relatives of the BJP office bearers, Sardesai has demanded that the government keep in abeyance the declaration of the results scheduled on December 5 and order a detail probe into the allegations. [H]
